Nominations for the positions on the Largo IB Partners Board - Nominations are now being taken via email for the school year 2017-2018. Positions open are for President and Secretary, both two year terms, and for parent and student representatives, two from each class, both one year terms. If interested, please email us (largoibbooster@gmail.com) by May 1, 2017 and we will include your name on the ballet. Voting will be at the General Meeting on May 16th. Job descriptions for all open positions can be found on our website at www.largoib.com

Hoodies and T'shirts are available for sale in Brenda Chevere's office. Hoodies are $25.00 and shirts are $15.00. Cash & Checks. If you pre-ordered, please pick up in Ms. Chevere's office during regular hours.

April 5, 2017 Dunedin Fine Arts Center - IB Arts Show - Please come and support our IB Arts student at this showing.

April 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. - Candlelight Ceremony for incoming 2017-2018 freshman students.

May 29, 2017 Largo Community Center at 6:30 p.m. - Meeting for a parent sponsored IB international trip for 2018. This trip is NOT sanctioned by Pinellas County, but is a trip organized and planned for by families of IB.

May 30 & 31 - IB Fun in the Sun (Formerly IB Boot Camp) - For all incoming freshman. More information coming soon.

• February 15, 2017 at 10:30 am in the cafeteria - Largo IB Partners will be taking pre orders for IB t'shirts and hoodies. The shirts are $15 and the hoodies $25. Cash and checks made out to Largo IB Boosters will be accepted. The turnaround for the orders will be two weeks.

• February. 15, 2017 at 6:30 pm. in the Research Center - Meeting for sophomore parents and students regarding IB Higher Learning and Standard Learning classes for next year. Sophomore students will be choosing which courses to declare for their junior year and this is an opportunity to learn the differences. Freshman parents and students are also welcome for those who wish to learn more now.

Largo IB Partners Meeting Cancelled

The General Meeting for Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6:30 pm. has been canceled. The next meeting will be Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 6:30 pm.

January IB Information

• Tuesday, January 10th - 8:00 am. - 1:00 pm. - Largo High School. Ms. Pettingill is looking for volunteers to help judge the History Day competition. Training starts at 8:00 am. and lunch will be provided. Parents will not be allowed to judge their own student. Most of the projects are IB students. Please email her at pettingilld@pcsb.org if you are able to help.

• Tuesday, January 17th - 6:30 pm. - Largo IB Partners Meeting - Largo High Resource Center - . There will be an Open Forum, and we will have a parent, student, teacher, and administrator present to help answer any questions.

• We will need volunteers to help proctor the IB exams in May. Please email our secretary at largoibbooster@gmail.com if you are interested. Shifts are various mornings usually from 9-12 and afternoons from 1-4. Hours and dates vary depending on the subject. We will have a sign up sheet at the IB Partners Meeting on January 17th.

• The Senior Celebration has been scheduled for May 22, 2017 at the Largo Cultural Center. Watch for more information on that in the coming months.

Wednesday night at the General Meeting, Ms. Wolfe gave a presentation on college readiness for all classes. She offered various insight for freshman, sophomores, and juniors in preparing for applying to colleges senior year. The presentation can be viewed by clicking below.

2016 Pinning Ceremony

Sixty-four (64) Largo High School juniors received their IB pins, and were officially recognized into the International Baccalaureate Program last night in the school's new auditorium. Put together by Largo IB Partners, the evening started with a welcome and introduction from IB Coordinator Mr. Liem and Principal Dr. Finkbiner. 

Senior Darcy Boos was the guest speaker for the evening. She congratulated the class of 2018 for surviving the past two years of honor's option, and offered helpful tips for their next two years in the IB program. She thanked the IB teachers and reminded the students to rely on them for help and support.

Baby pictures of each students came across the screen as the junior's names were called and they walked the stage. Each student received their IB pin from Mr. Liem, and a congratulatory handshake from Dr. Finkbiner. Largo IB Partner President Jyoti Patel closed the evening by thanking the volunteers who helped make the evening a success, and by reminding the families to get involved by supporting the school's program.

A huge thank you to Largo IB Partner Sunila Spano who organized the event, and big thank you to all of our parent and student volunteers. The evening was a wonderful night for the juniors and their families, and we look forward to our next event.

October IB News

• The IB Activity Fee of $25.00 per family is due by November 1st. Please pay online at www.largoib.com, left hand corner under Pay Activity Fee. Cash and/or checks can be given to Brenda Chevere in the office or mailed to the school with Attn: Largo IB Partners.

• The Junior IB Pinning Ceremony will be Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in the Largo HS Auditorium at 6:30 pm. Refreshments will follow the ceremony.

• The Largo IB Partners General Meeting will be held November 2, 2016 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm in the school's media center. Please enter through the gates by the office, under the blue light. There will be an Open Forum at the end of the meeting for any questions, comments, or discussions. A teacher, administrative, student, and parent representative will be at the meeting to help with the forum.

• Largo IB Hoodies are available for sale in the IB office. Hoodies are $25 and come in blue or gray. Largo IB T'shirts can be pre-ordered in the IB office. T'shirts are $15

• Senior Graduation will be May 17, 2017 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg at 4:00 pm. This is also an IB testing date, but exams will be finished by noon.
