UF 2019 Student Recruitment Conference

The purpose of this event is to help boost black enrollment at the University of Florida by hosting a day-long conference, about 8am to 1pm, for parents and potential students alike that creates a space for the real questions to be asked and shares a space with the objective of empowering potential black students by showcasing the endeavors of current black student leaders and faculty.

LEAP Training and Orientation

The LEAP 4 College Center is a college and career resource center for Largo students to explore their post-high school options. The Parent Orientation and Volunteer Training is within the next few weeks.

- Orientation (choose one) – Fri., Jan. 25 – 9:00 to 10:00 AM OR Tues., Jan. 29 - 6:30 to 7:30 PM
- Training (choose one) – Fri., Feb. 8 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM OR Fri., Feb. 15 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM

2019 Summer Driver Registration

Registration starts online in February

Pinellas County Schools will offer driver education camp at nine locations this summer. There will be two sessions at each site that will be open to both public and private school students at a cost of $156.00 per student. The sessions are scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The camp is open to residents of Pinellas County. High school graduates will not be accepted. Students will register online starting Feb. 11 - 17, 2019. The online application can be accessed on the Pinellas County Schools website at www.pcsb.org/driversed.

Students can register on-line for one or both sessions at their school of choice.
Session #1 - (10) Day - 7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - June 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
Session #2 - (10) Day - 7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - June 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28

Requirements:
Students must be at least 15 years old and must have a learner’s permit or operator’s license when the session begins.
Two absences result in an automatic withdrawal from the course.
There is a 40 student maximum per site for each session.






Hack the SAT at Countryside Library

The Clearwater Countryside Library will again be hosting Hack the SAT with Eliot Schrefer and hoped that you could pass the information along to your students. This program reveals shortcuts and gives students strategies to raise their SAT and ACT scores and is taught by award-winning author Eliot Schrefer. This program is free and open to all members of the community. It will take place on Sunday, January 27th at 2pm. Please see the attached flyer.
